Information Product Creation – Keep It Low Tech for More Sales and Less Customer Service

Information products are the way most of us working on the Internet are able to make money while we are sleeping. If you are already working online, or just getting started with your Internet business, being able to create info products quickly and easily will make a huge difference in your bottom line. These products are fun and easy to create, and over time you will increase your inventory and selection of what you can offer for sale to your prospects and clients. When thinking about creating a new product, remember to follow a simple formula each time, let people know about what you have for sale, and always ask your target market what type of information they would most like to have at that particular time.

We all tend to want to complicate things, especially when we are just beginning our online businesses. I will encourage you to keep it simple! Start out with an outline of the information you would like to share. Then start doing some research to see who else is already providing this. Competition is the best thing if you want to make lots of money and to find people who are ready, willing, and able to buy information on your topic.

Create your info product as a report or eBook, making it easy for customers to download and consume. Keeping the technology to a minimum will result in more sales and less customer service requests. If you think about it, this makes perfect sense. We’ve all had the experience, or know someone else who has, of not being able to download and watch a video we have purchased online, or of not being able to get the audio file to play on our favorite mp3 player. Keep it low tech for best results.

The marketing and promotion of what you create as an information product is the crucial piece of this puzzle. Personally, I find this to be the most fun part of the process, but most people do not feel this way. Have fun with marketing, and see each day as an opportunity to let even more people know who you are, what you can do to help them to achieve their own goals, and how your products can be the way for them to do this as quickly as possible.

As you can see, creating and selling products on the Internet is an area you can work in for many years to come, and you are only limited by your imagination.
